Join us for a day of dragons, arts, fun and whimsy at the St. George Day Festival in Tompkinsville Park on Saturday, April 26. This annual celebration brings attention to on of Staten Island’s most culturally diverse and creative communities.
Attractions at the 8th Annual St. George Day Festival:
“St. George & the Friendly Dragon,” – A giant puppet theatre spectacle reinterpreting the story of St. George and the Dragon, starring a 35 ft. long colorful dragon puppet.
Zone – A special area dedicated to green living and education,
Dragon Parade – A walking pageant of dragons,
fairies, and people.
Art Around the Park – Park fences turn into galleries for the day.
Interactive Craft Fair – Check out makers’ wares AND learn their
Kids’ Craft Stations – Two sessions of easy crafts kids can make and take.
Live Music Stage – Listen and dance to some of Staten Island’s hottest talents.
WORD! Stage – Poetry, performance, and storytelling from local writers.
Kids’ Stage – Fun entertainment for a young audience.
Street Performance – Live “happening style” presentations throughout the day.
Free Store – Give and take free stuff: repurpose, recycle, reuse!
